UNİVERSAL KİD'S FİLM FESTİVAL·21 AĞUSTOS 2018 SALI
The Universal Kids Fi lm Festival (UKFF) will be held from 20-24 September 2018
in various districts of Tuzla Istanbul in cooperation by the Tuzla District
Ministry of Education and other private educational institutions. Now on its
sixth year of existence, it has consistently shown films that has inspired young
people in order to promote its advocacy on creating a culture of Peace.
This years’ event will feature full length movies from different corners of the
globe that highlights the lives and aspirations of children from various
cultural backgrounds, aspirations, experiences and poignant situations in war
and peace. Short films that adress very young children are also part of the
selection that will be shown in various schools. Some of the award winning films
which will have their Premier showing in Turkey includes: Ballad of Tibet, 21
Days Later, The Cart, Harvie and the Magic Museum etc.
Corollary activities which will be held in conjunction with the film screenings
include workshops, master classes, exhibitions and live performances. Mr. Thomas
Kutschera of Pixomodo will be showing the development and realization of the
Dragons in the award-winning HBO series Game of Thrones. Ms. Cveti Lozanova,
actress and directress of Children’s Film Studio from Bulgaria will be
conducting pantomime workshops, Prof. Kim Shon from Hanyang University will be
holding master classes and hands-on in animation while a band play worrkshop
will be held by Mr. Pekka Rautio from Finland. A day long workshop will also be
conducted by Cinekid in cooperation with the Consulate of the Nethelands.
