Yasmin is a 10-year-old Palestinian refugee girl living in Izmir. Because her
appearance doesn't conform to societal beauty standards, she is ostracized and
ridiculed at school. Her mother, Samira, notices Yasmin's loneliness and decides
to surprise her. One day, she takes her to a dog kennel in Kemalpaşa. There,
Yasmin finds a timid puppy. This puppy, whose mother died of poisoning, finds a
deep place in Yasmin's heart. She names it "Iz-Mira." Yasmin and Iz-Mira grow up
together, healing together. Years later, in a scene on the beach, it is shown
that they have become beautiful not only physically but also spiritually.v
