Boston Turkish Festival Documentary and Short Film Competition provides a rare
opportunity for filmmakers to have a platform in the USA for their films to
reach an international audience as well as film critics. The first of its kind
organized in North America, and celebrating its 9th year, the competition has
already transformed to a great tradition where Bostonians are able to explore
works of the emerging filmmakers first hand. Each year more than 2
00 films are submitted from numerous countries including Armenia, Belgium,
Canada, France, Germany, Holland, Iran, Israel, S. Korea, Nepal, Norway, Turkey,
U.K., U.S.A..
After a careful elimination process, we screen more than 40 films every year at
the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Goethe-Institut Boston, and Boston University.
Members of this year's Competition Jury include:

Carter Long, Katharine Stone White Curator of Film, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
In addition to the 'Best Documentary" and "Best Short Film" Awards to be
selected by the jury, we announce "Audience Awards". Ballots are distributed at
the beginning of each film screening and collected in the end. Therefore, we
invite all 'movie enthusiasts' to come and participate in this fun process!

Belgesel ve Kısa Film Yarışması’nın finalist filmleri 7 Kasım - 15 Kasım 2014
tarihleri arasında Boston Güzel Sanatlar Müzesi ve Boston Üniversitesi’nde
seyirci ile buluşuyor. Seyirciler de “En İyi Belgesel” ve “En İyi Kısa” filmini
belirlemek için oy kullanabiliyor. Yarışma Jürisi filmlere özel mansiyon
ödülleri de verebiliyor. Ayrıca, ödül kazanan filmlerin yönetmenlerine yarışmaya
katılım sertifikası da veriliyor. Ödül alan filmler 2015’de 14. Boston Türk Film
Festivali programında da gösteriliyor ve ödül plaketleri düzenlenen bir törenle
kendilerine takdim ediliyor.
2006 yılından beri her yıl Boston’da düzenlenmekte olan Kuzey Amerika’nın ilk
ödüllü Türk belgesel ve kısa film yarışmasının jürisinde Harvard Film Arşivi
Direktörü Haden Guest, film eleştirmeni Peter Keough, Boston Güzel Sanatlar
Müzesi Film Küratörü Carter Long gibi film konusunda saygın isimler yer alıyor.
Türkiye'de ve dünyadaki tüm yönetmen ve yapımcılara açık olan ödüllü yarışmaya
başvuruda bulunacak filmler için herhangi bir konu ve zaman kısıtlaması

Yarışmaya her yönetmen veya yapımcı herbir kategoride sadece tek bir filmle
katılabiliyor. Belgesel ve Kısa Film Yarışması’nda yarışma ve yarışma-dışı
gösterim programları yer alıyor. Yarışma’nın başvuru süresi 20 Ağustos 2014
tarihinde sona eriyor. Yarışma yetkilileri A.B.D. gibi film endüstrisinin çok
gelişmiş olduğu bir ülkede belgesel ve kısa film yarışması geleneğinin
oluşturulmasına ve sürdürülmesine öncülük etmekten büyük bir gurur ve heyecan
duyduklarını ve yarışmanın Türk sinemasının A.B.D.’ye açılan bir penceresi
olduğunu vurguluyor.
Geçtiğimiz yıl 200’ün üzerinde başvuru alan yarışmaya katılan filmlerin genel
düzeyi nedeniyle Türk sinemasının geleceğinden çok umutlu olduklarını belirten
yarışma yetkilileri tüm yönetmenleri ve yapımcıları Boston’daki Belgesel ve Kısa
Film Yarışması’na katılmaya davet ediyor. Yarışma ve başvuru hakkında daha fazla
