Hürriyete Açılan Kanatlar, Osmaniye’nin Millî Mücadele yıllarında verdiği
direnişi, cephe gerisinde ve önünde yaşanan gerçek kahramanlıklar üzerinden
anlatan çarpıcı bir belgeseldir. 1920’li yıllarda Türkiye’nin güney cephesinde,
Osmaniye’de verilen bağımsızlık mücadelesini konu alan bu belgesel; işgal
koşulları altında şekillenen direnişi tarihsel tanıklıklar eşliğinde anlatıyor.
Osmaniye’de yaşanan bu mücadele, yalnızca yerel bir savunma hattı değil, bugün
dünyanın farklı coğrafyalarında özgürlük için direnen tüm halklar adına emsal
teşkil eden bir duruş olarak ele alıyor. Belgesel, özellikle kadınların
üstlendiği sorumluluk ve gösterdiği cesareti direnişin simgesel gücü olarak
merkeze alıyor. Film, emperyalist güçlerin bölgedeki amaçlarını ve yarattıkları
siyasal, toplumsal ve insani tahribatı açık biçimde ortaya koyuyor.
*Wings of Freedom* is a compelling documentary that chronicles Osmaniye’s
resistance during the years of the War of Independence through the true acts of
heroism that took place both on the front lines and behind them. Set on Turkey’s
southern front in the 1920s, this documentary focuses on the struggle for
independence waged in Osmaniye, recounting the resistance that took shape under
conditions of occupation through historical testimonies. It frames this struggle
in Osmaniye not merely as a local line of defense, but as a stance that serves
as a model for all peoples resisting for freedom in various parts of the world
today. The documentary centers on the responsibility and courage demonstrated by
women in particular as the symbolic driving force of the resistance. The film
clearly exposes the objectives of imperialist powers in the region and the
political, social, and humanitarian devastation they caused.
